What brought you to Halff, and what has kept you here?

“During my interview/entrance exam with Halff leaders in 1998, it became clear that Halff expected excellence and deeply cared for its people. This commitment to excellence and care is what brought me to Halff and has kept me here. I have many stories to prove it.”

What is your favorite memory of working at Halff?

“One of my favorite memories at Halff was the North Texas Marketing team-building event at Board & Brush. It was a fantastic experience creating personalized projects while connecting with colleagues in a fun and creative environment. The event highlighted the camaraderie and collaborative spirit that makes our team so special.”

What does this anniversary milestone mean to you personally?

“As Halff celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2025, I am reminded of the path to this milestone. We would not be here without the exceptional people who preceded us or the 1,500 unique individuals that comprise Halff today. I am inspired regularly to add to the legacy of collaboration and innovation, and I look forward to building upon our 75-year history of improving lives and communities.”

What does being part of the Halff team mean to you?

“Being part of the Halff team allows me to be a servant to my community. I not only get to help local municipalities with their biggest engineering challenges, but Halff provides a forum for giving back to my community though the Halff Community Initiative. Knowing every day that I have the opportunity to make a difference is a privilege.”

What’s been the most rewarding experience during your career here?

“When Dr. Halff made a visit to our Houston office and came into the survey area, we all pulled up chairs to talk with him. He told us to never stop learning and trying to advance ourselves. The mentoring and support from Halff staff has helped me achieve and exceed my wildest expectations for my career. I am truly grateful!”

How has the company changed or grown since you started?

“Our company has more than tripled in my 19 years at Halff, yet we still maintain a strong family-like culture. The emphasizes our dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for our clients and employees. This growth is rooted in the great foundation of servant leadership established by Dr. Halff, which continues to inspire and guide us today.”

What are you most excited about for the future of Halff?

“I am thrilled to witness the positive impact Halff can have on our communities! We are collaborating closely with local officials to identify high-impact projects and secure funding resources that will support our shared vision for the future.”

Share a project you’ve been a part of that makes you proud?

“One of my favorite projects I’ve had the honor of being a part of is the City of Austin’s Atlas 14 Floodplain Modeling and Mapping Program. Halff serves as a technical advisor, helping lead the development of floodplain mapping for 56 watersheds. Being a part of educating the public about flood risk is a big challenge and responsibility. I am thankful to be among the professionals helping the City to stay more informed of changing risk!”

What’s one word or phrase you’d use to describe Halff’s journey?

“If it were a one word, it would be ‘fulfilling.’ Halff is a company that empowers you to grow your responsibilities as you demonstrate your capabilities. I continue to enjoy working with remarkable people and the feeling that I can help them make a difference in our communities.”

What legacy do you hope the company will leave behind in its industry?

“I hope we leave a legacy of quality and innovation. That’s been a core part of who we have been in the past. I know Halff will look different over time, but I hope that’s something we are always known for—that we don’t just respond to change in the industry, but we drive change in the industry.”
